What the Bible says

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

The New Creation

The new creation is where this is all heading. It’s the end point and goal of God’s plan. It’s a new universe and a new earth: similar to this one because it will also be real – physical, beautiful, diverse and wonderful; but different to this one because there will be no more sin, suffering, death, pain, tears or anything impure. There, the meaninglessness of this life will be gone.

In the new creation, God’s glory and love will be brightly displayed forever in Jesus and the people he has rescued. He will be our king and we will be his people, knowing what it’s like to be loved by him, rescued by him, and ruled by him. There, we will love God perfectly and we’ll love each other properly too. We will see God and we will know him more personally and intimately than we ever can in this broken world.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.
Revelation chapter 21 verse 4-5
