What the Bible says God made us alive together with
Christ ... so that in the coming ages he might show the
immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in
Christ Jesus. |
In order to show his glory and love, God has done something totally mind-blowing. He has come into the world that he cursed and taken the curse upon himself in order to rescue his people from hell and take them to a totally new creation. He has satisfied his own justice and anger at our sin by taking the punishment himself. He did this through his own eternal son who came into this broken world as a man and took the curse of God on himself. Jesus was born 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem and he lived a perfect life always loving God (his Father) with all his heart and doing everything for God’s glory. He never sinned. He claimed to be God himself, our king and the judge of all the world. He promised to save everyone who trusts him from hell by dying on a cross as their substitute and taking God’s anger at them. At that moment he experienced the curse of God in himself. That means we can now be totally forgiven by him; that we can escape hell and go to the new creation. It’s amazing news! On the third day after he died, God raised Jesus from the dead. He is the only person in history to have defeated death like this. That is God’s proof to us that Jesus really is our king and the judge of all the world, and he really can deliver on his promises. So, what will the new creation be like, and how can you be sure
