What the Bible says And to Adam

God has responded to our rebellion by doing something very shocking. He has cursed the world. Since we have tried to make ourselves the centre of this world instead of God, he has broken it. That is why there is now so much pain, sorrow and death mixed with the pleasure of life in this world. Life in this world has become as painful and futile as it is beautiful. The meaninglessness of life in the world that we’re all familiar with is the beginning of God’s judgement and an expression of his anger at our sin. But it's only the beginning. After we die God sends people to hell - a real place of endless torment. Even though he doesn't want to do that, God does so because his justice demands it. In our lives we treat ourselves as if we were God and we treat God as if he were nothing. God will not allow us to live like that and get away with it. He will get the glory in the end, even if he has to do the unthinkable and send people to hell. Incredibly, this is all part of God's plan. But why would God plan things this way? It seems utterly gloomy. Well, God has planned it this way for a reason – are you ready for it? | |||
