The 1st
Creation
Let’s start at the beginning, when
God made the universe and the world that we live in.
Glory
God made the universe for his glory – to show how good he is.
Its beauty, grandeur and diversity all demonstrate how amazing God
is – his creativity, his power, his imagination. Take in the view
from a mountain top, peer out into the horizon from the shore of a
beach or gaze up in the evening at the countless stars overhead. It
all shows us the glory of God who made it.
Love
And God made us to be in a loving relationship with him.
Because God is love himself, he created us in his image - to love
him and be loved by him in the world that he has made. That is our
purpose in life and that's why Jesus said that the most important
command in the Bible is to “love the Lord your God with all your
heart, mind soul and strength”, for we were made to love
God.
But the world that we live in does not seem to fit with this
picture, does it? Something seems to have gone very, very wrong.
